Nutritional Therapy
Good food is more than nourishment, it’s medicine for the mind.
This initiative began during the COVID-19 lockdown, a time when there was an abundance of fresh food as we stayed in our homes, pushing prices to an all time low.
Recognizing the opportunity it presented, we launched a six-week nutrition campaign inviting people to donate towards improving nutritional support for patients at Butabika Hospital during that season.
What started as a small act of compassion quickly grew into a wave of generosity. 10,000/- either bought a tray of 30 eggs or 6 pineapples or 1 bunch of matooke it was a great success.
At the end of the campaign, we held a joyful cookout to celebrate and share one final meal together with the patients.
Today, the Nutrition Program continues as a vital lifeline, though it remains largely dependent on donations.
Our vision is to stabilize and expand this effort, ensuring that access to healthy, nourishing meals becomes a consistent part of mental health recovery because healing the mind begins with feeding the body.
