Cakely Uganda, the organisers of the Uganda Cake Fair which brings together bakers from all over the country agreed to partner us for the very first Christmas in Butabika initiative. Together with the bakers in the organization we were able to receive 42 Christmas cakes, while Coca Cola’s Century Bottling Company gave us enough drinks for every one of the 1000 plus patients in the hospital.
On Christmas morning, the Soul Foundation team plus friends cut and distributed cake to all the over 1000 patients, staff and caretakers in the different wards, an exercise that lasted most of the day. The pure joy of this gift was evident on all their faces and we knew that our goal was well achieved
