Menstrual hygiene is a sensitive matter yet also something that we can easily overlook if we do not pay attention. AfriPads Uganda partnered with Soul Foundation to give these vulnerable women reusable pads which they can use for up to a year. These were given to patient who were on the recovery path and able to take care of their own hygiene plus patients who were leaving the hospital as part of their discharge kit.
The challenge of a consistent supply of pads to supplement what the hospital already gives is not lost on us so we continue to seek for partners who can provide the desired quantities of especially disposable pads.
